Meet Ray
Ray has spent his career caring for others, and now he's excited to bring that same compassion and reliability to the pets of Five Paws! Originally from Philadelphia, Ray is retired after a long career in pediatric critical care nursing. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Neumann University and a Master's in Leadership & Nursing Education from Wilmington University, along with multiple nursing board certifications.
At home, Ray shares life with his two dogs, Juliet, a mixed breed, and Motley, a Golden Retriever. When he's not spending time with them, you'll likely find him outdoors enjoying nature on a hike or relaxing walk.
One thing that has always guided Ray is his passion for helping children. He dedicated his career to caring for children facing serious illnesses, injuries, and trauma, and he's proud to have been recognized as Employee of the Month at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and to have co-authored a published article on pediatric critical care education.
If Ray could be any animal, he'd choose an elephant because of their intelligence, gentle nature, and quiet strength. And one fun fact? Before becoming a nurse, he spent three years studying pharmacy before realizing his heart was leading him down a different path—a decision that ultimately shaped a career he truly loved.
Ray is thrilled to be part of the Five Paws team and looks forward to getting to know you and your pets!
